Grown up doggie school!

What a morning I've had!   Mum said I've done so well at puppy school that she found me a place at grown up doggie school.   I've met sooooo many new human and canine friends.  All the humans are really well trained and carry dog treats nom nom nom.  Our teacher is Marie and she told mum off once 'cos I did something good and it made the clicker go off, but mum forgot that always means she has to give me a treat. Naughty mum!   We did loads of fun exercises, some were hard though.   We all have a special mat and our humans had to put treats on our mat and tell us to leave it, as if it was poisonous.   Then all of us had to take our humans for a walk to heel round all the mats and nobody was allowed to touch any treats.  When we got back to our own mat Mum had to check my treats  were safe then tell me it was ok to eat them.... phew, that was tough for me.

We've got homework.  I have to practise lying on a mat, doing sit-stays and also being quietly settled tied on a line while Mum walks away to have a chat with other humans.  The cleverest dogs in my group had to stay lying down on their mats while their humans disappeared to do something round the corner.  I was dead impressed.  Not sure  I can do that yet.

Afterwards we let the humans all off lead to chat and we doggies had playtime.  Never had so much fun before.  There were one or two who told me firmly to mind my teenage manners so I did. And they played with me.

Do look at my pics and see if you can spot My favourite new friend Pippa in the top pic.... We really hit it off 😍.

Can't wait for next week 😀.

To Market, To Market.....

Dad is away but Mum isn't working today ...yay!!  Pat took us to Brigg market ... OMG! Walked into the street and there's a bloke with a stall and box after box of toys and even better, FOOD, the smell - ooh I can't tell you how goooood!  Then there were so many doggie people wanting me to love them. It was hard remembering the "F" rule: Four Feet on Floor = Fuss...  but I did it a lot... and got lots of fuss.

We went right through the market and found another doggie stall and a lovely man who fussed me, said I was lovely (yup, I am), went off and came back with a piece of sausage for me nom nom!!!!  After that we went to the pub.  Great place called The Yarborough Hunt with lots of people who give doggie fusses. Mum and Pat had coffee and Mum gave me some of my treat snacks when I was doing what she wanted.   I know when I get it right, as doing good things makes a clicky noise happen and when Mum hears it she knows she needs to give me a treat.  It wasn't easy as there were lots of distractions to excite me and that makes me chew my lead.  Mum says that's like humans biting their nails and it is a BAD habit.  She kept reminding me and after about half an hour I felt totally relaxed.

Then we went back up the market. Mum bought me a new toy, a Kong Wubba, and while she was doing that I sneaked my nose into a box of soft toys where I found a chicken. Mum was still busy so I gently picked it up, but then aargh, it crowed at me and made me jump a mile!  Then I squeezed it again, ooh funny toy, I like it!   Mum said we had to go and to put it back in the box but the nice man said I was so lovely I could have it as a free gift!  It's profitable being cute like me! Finally, we went back to the other stall and Mum bought a HUMUNGOUS soft bed for the lounge and the man gave me a biscuit too.
Oh, that reminds me, I forgot to tell you last night's surprise..... I slept in Mum's room for the first time, in my den.  I slept all night and mum was very happy.  That's why she's bought me a daybed for the lounge to go where my den was.

Looked after Mum today...

Mum needed me and Charlie cat  to love her today.  She had something called a "my grain" (sounds like food to me, but she said it meant a hurty head) and Dad had to go away till tomorrow too.  So I thought it best to be calm and a bit quiet especially this morning,   Later on she felt a bit better and we had a short walk to Bo's house where he and I had a chase round the garden to save Mum taking me too far on our walk. She was very quiet though, not her usual self really.    Bo loaned me a toy to bring home to help me stay quiet but he clearly doesn't know me that well!  It's a puzzle thing... Mum put treats I it and then I had to get them out by spinning the sections round... Took me under 5 mins to get them all! Think I need one that is more challenging.    Funny thing, tonight I didn't get ANY tea in my dish... Some was in that puzzle thing, some in a puzzle ball and the rest, now you won't believe what she did with it.   She put it in an empty plastic bottle and let me play with it to get the bits out.  I crunched and bent the bottle and it made it even more fun to get the bits of food out.

Mum says we are having an early night and says she has a surprise for me....
