I found the Charlie cat in my bed...

..so I sat on him. He was not really pleased and after a bit swore at me!  Mum gave us both some treats in my bed but then I left him to it.  He's STILL there, cheeky beggar.

Teddy

Loving my Teddy. Bo told Pat I should have one so she bought this one for me ... Thank you :)

What a little star!!!!

Ok, so Mum and I went for a little walk.  She said we couldn't go far 'cos of something called icy slippy... beats me, but then like I said before, she does do some odd things.  We saw Dad go off in the car...thought I was going too, but seems not.  You wait till you hear what happened when we got in. Total HEAVEN, I tell you it was!  Charlie had been up on the worktop and knocked some of my grub down onto the floor. Nuggets of pure delight rolling all over the floor.  I can't tell you what Mum said as I didn't know the word, but I think she was excited as she rushed to get the big hairy thing on a stick and we both chased the food round the floor.   She was a bit of a spoilsport really though as she removed the ones she got to first.     The only downside was I got so excited that Mum made me have a lie down to calm down a bit.

Charlie and Oscar

Charlie is a wind up merchant.   He won't run so we can play chase, he just sits there even if I wash his ears.  He swears at me but I get into trouble for barking back at him!   However give us both treats and things are fabulous.

Pub!

Great fun again today.  Out in the car with Mum and Dad to town.  Mum and I stayed in the car while Dad went off and did something or other then we all had a real adventure.  They said we were in "town". I like town.  There are lots of humans but not many wanted to play - their loss.  There were lots of dogs too all taking their humans on leads.  Some of them didn't look very friendly and none wanted to come and be sociable - oh well.  I have to tell you though, I have never had such a wild selection of smells to investigate - don't know why Mum and Dad just keep walking though. They simply don't know what they're missing.   Anyway, we went over a river (I think I'd like to investigate it sometime) and into a thing called a pub.  The human there was very nice and gave Mum and Dad coffee and gave me two little bone-shaped biscuits. A nice man came and fussed me a lot - said he had some big dogs at home.  I like the pub - can we go back?   Mum and Dad got a bit bored so then we went back through the lovely smells and people and dogs.  When we got to the car I showed Dad how I can control Mum and make her walk right by my side and give me treats - she is clever sometimes!   After all that I was worn out and went to sleep in the car - they've hung a thing called "bin" for me to put my head on, so thoughtful!

Message from Charlie cat.

About time I got my say in this dog business.
I'm starting to get Oscar trained. Dad says I should swipe him one when goes and sticks his wet nose into my privates but I've been reading the research about ignoring bad behaviour and rewarding good. It works. He rolled me right over last night and I just looked at him and said "have you finished?" I've got reward plans for him. I've found the treats and discovered mum and dad sometimes forget to put the lid on... If I knock the pot on the floor we could share the spoils. Love Charlie.

Mum's potty activities

Time for another Oscar lab report.... had a fun day as Mum was home all day apart from when I sent her to get some shopping. She did something quite odd this morning. She decided we'd go for a walk but seemed quite incapable of making up her mind where to go. Don't tell her I said so, but I think she's losing it. I tried to pull her the right way but every time I did she stopped and turned round. Weird. Then suddenly I got the game. If I stayed by her leg she said "Close", and I got a treat. Funny game but if it gets me treats I'll go for it smile emoticon

Mail for me!

Got a note from my mate Bo today

Hi Oscar ..Bo here ... That gardening all sounds like too much hard work for me. I tried to wind my Mum up by pinching her gloves in the hope that she would play chase around the room or give me a treat if I gave them up. It didn't work so I curled up in a ball and went to sleep. Maybe it will work tomorrow. It works if I nick her phone.

Love Bo

Hmmm, what does "nick her phone" mean.  Will have to think on that one!

Gardening!

Today Dad said  'enough of this here basic dog training, let's go rattin'! Not quite sure what he mean't but it sounded like fun as it was accompanied by cries of 'rats! mice! seize 'em! So off we went down the garden which was thick with dead bushes and plants from the summer which needed destroying. Dad made a big heap of stuff and then stuck a little magic thing in the bottom which made some strange coloured stuff appear. Dad said it was a 'bomsire' with 'smoke' or something like that. Fascinating. Meanwhile I was crashing around in the undergrowth looking for something that might be 'rats-mice-seize 'em' but all I found were a few crunchy things which dad said were 'snails' and a plastic flowerpot or two. So I did the wall-of-death round the garden for an hour or so carrying sticks and bits of plant. Had a whale of a time. Now knackered and retired to snore in my basket......Ho hummmmm

Puppy School

Oscar calling.... round of applause required tonight. I've been to puppy school with Dad and I am not boasting but he said I was brilliant. My mate Bo went too so we got to play together in a big hall. A lady called Auntie Marion told us this school thing is all about training your humans to dish out delicious morsels. Tonight I learned how to hypnotise Dad ... he's a pushover. Look into his eyes and hey presto he responds with a treat. Had him bobbing up and down too as I went between lying, sitting and standing. Mum will be pleased I've tired him out for her.

FUN FUN FUN!

So that's what Mum means by tired! Boy have I had a fun day! I've been really smart and worked out how to go up and downstairs but Charlie seems less than pleased about that. I shouted 'boo!' when I saw he was on Mum's bed this morning and you should've heard him - no need for that tone of voice.

Then Mum picked up the blue thing I take her out round the streets on and we went to a place called"field". Hope we go there again. Mum tied a really long thing to me in case she got lost but I stayed nearby to make sure she was ok. Then she just took it off me and I was free to roam. She liked me staying nearby to keep an eye on her. She was thoughtful too and had a pocketful of snacks for me smile emoticon. Next we called in to see my mate Bo with his humans Hannah & Pat Donnelly. We had a good snog, then Bo showed me how to chase round the room with him. Things got a bit interesting then though.
Bo sniffed me rather embarrassingly then seemed to want a piggyback. The humans came to my rescue; they said Bo had to cool it, whatever that means and they started talking about "little operations" ... anyone know what they mean?
