Out Dogging with Dad

So back to the routine. It was a lovely sunny morning so Dad said, let's go out dogging. Straight in the car and a few miles down the road we pulled into a quiet corner and piled out into the sunshine. Not been to this spot before but things soon got exciting as we trundled off down a lane with Dad grunting and groaning about the state of his feet and legs after Crufts yesterday! He wouldn't have won any prizes for 'Fittest Dad' would he?

A hundred yards down the road I was busy when I noticed Dad jumping up and down on the spot. I wasn't too bothered because I had my head and front end down a big hole in the hedge to see what what was inside. Dad kept jumping, and roaring something about 'leave-those-bloody-black-and-white-somethings alone!!!!!' Didn't know what he was on about, but thought I had better go as he was having a pink fit about it. No big holes for me I understand. I laughed because I suddenly thought that a certain meat-head mate of mine called Bo would barely have got his fat head in!

Things got better yet. After that we went into a wood, and after a few minutes there was a lot of squawking and fluttering as some funny birds decided to leave at the other end in a cloud of feathers and panic. Not my fault, never touched 'em Your Honour!

Oscar came to stay

Mum said to me that Oscar was coming for a sleep over on Wednesday, and that I had to be good and share my toys with him which I always do.  I was wondering what a sleep over was, and why my humans were talking about a cage and where it was going to be put.  They decided that it would go behind the sofa in the lounge so that we could not race around all night.
Oscar arrived at 12:00 with cage, toys and food.  It appears that a sleep over means that you stay the night.  We spent most of Wednesday afternoon chasing round the garden, it was fun having someone to play with.  We got so excited that it was difficult to settle down for the evening and as mum went out to do that ringing thing it was left to Hannah, my other human, to take care of us. She had said to mum that she was going to spoil Oscar, I didn’t know what she meant, but it seems that he is not allowed to get on the sofa at home but he soon learnt that  he could here.
We spent all of Thursday morning out in the garden playing until Oscar decided that next doors garden look more fun and went through a gap in the fence.  It was too small for me, and I kept squeaking at him to come back, but he stayed there until mum call him and as punishment we were taken indoors for the rest of the day, and only taken back out in the garden on a lead.

Mum went out ringing that evening shutting me in my outdoor house and Oscar in his cage, so that we didn’t get into any trouble.  When she came back and let me in Oscar I could not find Oscar, mum said he had gone home, I wanted to say goodbye before he went but I was too late.

Now don't anyone go showing this to CharlieCat.... He really enjoyed our snuggle by the fire, but said he didn't want people to know....apparently he has this hard guy image to maintain. Yeah right, he's an old softie at heart, :)
