Another trip out

I do like it when the humans say "car".   I adore being in it - makes me warm and sleepy and takes me to lots of adventures.  Have to say they were a bit slow in getting going this morning.  They said it because it was "Satt--er--day" - think that was it.  Mum had breakfast with me about 7am, but told me and Charlie "no messing about - be quiet boys - Dad's asleep!".    It was so hard to be patient, but we were both good.   Mum's cunning really - she kept hiding bits of my breakfast in my Kong toy and I had a laugh getting them out to eat. Much more fun than just in a bowl. Apparently eating like there is no tomorrow isn't good for me (so she says).

Eventually there were signs we were going somewhere when the harness thing came out.  I've learned to put it on quietly as Mum seems not to like a game of chase and tug-of-war with it.  Peculiar as I think it is boring to just put it on, but hey-ho, got to keep the old girl happy.

Finally the door opened and it was car time - yippee!  Had a good walk all round where the humans used to live. Didn't see another soul, human or animal; so there was no need for me to look after Mum and Dad on a lead.  I just kept close to make sure they were fine.  They remembered snacks for me, so it was well worth keeping a very close eye on them to make sure they didn't dare eat any themselves.  They both seemed very happy and full of the joys of spring. It was a glorious day - birds flying, little white and yellow flowers blooming, sun shining and both my humans with me.

Dad called me for a snack

Then I walked close to him for a while.

The walk was over all too soon for my liking.  I am sure they've got it all wrong, but Mum says she's done research and found out that labradors are only supposed to have 5 mins of exercise for every month of their age until their bones are fully hard so 40 mins is enough for me but if we take it steady we can do a bit more.   Well my bones feel pretty hard already to me.

I was pleased we didn't go straight home. Instead we went to investigate a new Country Store near home.  OMG!  It was FULL of foooooooood.   The spoilsports put a lead on my harness as they had an idea I might decide to bite holes in the food bags.... would I do such a thing?  Anyway, they bought some cat toilet stuff (that Charlie, is a lazy bag of feline bones - he has an INDOOR toilet!) but Dad also bought me a pheasant :)

Oh, that shop - it is Deepdale Country stores
