"At THIS time of day? And who are those two people... are they coming?"
"Ah, that's Stephen and Janet, yes they're coming. They're going bellringing with Dad, but if you're a good boy, you and I can go and have some special fun. What do you say?"
"Yippee - FUN!! Yep, I'm up for that!"
Quick kip in the car and we arrived at Roos Church. I said hello to the people there. Helen Audley said it was good to meet me and that I was handsome! They all disappeared inside and the bells started, so mum and I went off for a walk in the fields. That was good, but didn't sound like the promised special fun. Back at the car we went away from the church - called at Tesco to get a snack for Dad for after the ringing (BORING) and then a filling station - apparently "car" gets hungry just like me, and Mum says car is very expensive to feed. Then FINALLY we arrived at the BIG fun place called "Withernsea seaside". It smelled really different and I hared off on sand and a few pebbles, galloping round and round.
Suddenly, just as we reached the water with its all ready waves to chase me, we heard a voice in the distance "Jaaasperrr", "Jasper come! Come back here now!"
We turned to look and a black and white Springer was headed my way at high speed. He shouted
"Wanna play?"
Well that's a daft question to ask me! Course I did!
Mum was a killjoy and caught hold of me, then Jasper's Mum caught him - then Mum had a great idea. She asked Jasper's mum if he could play with me and she said yes!! BRING IT ON!
We had a terrific time, charging in and out of the surf, chasing stones, rolling in the sand and getting thoroughly wet! Mum was right it was special fun!
All too soon Jasper had to go but then Mum came and played in the edge of the water with me. Then she took my photo.
